First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova received United Nations Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator Osnat Lubrani to discuss a wide range of issues of cooperation between Ukraine and UN agencies.
During the meeting, special attention was given to the importance of the activities of humanitarian organizations of the UN system in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and UN assistance to the Government of Ukraine in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The parties discussed Ukraine's progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including the Foreign Ministry's practical steps to promote gender equality, as well as attracting UN assistance to support Ukraine's socio-economic reforms and initiatives to hold joint events to mark the 75th anniversary of the UN.
E. Dzhaparova emphasized the importance of due attention by the international community to the whole range of problems related to the temporary occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, as reflected in the reports of the UN Secretary-General on Crimea, as well as in relevant UN General Assembly resolutions.
