On May 24th, Deputy Foreign Minister Iryna Borovets held an online meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Panama, Vladimir Adolfo Franco Sousa. They discussed current issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Panama.

Iryna Borovets thanked the Panamanian side for consistently supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within the UN and other international organizations.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the people of Panama on the successful general elections held on May 5 this year. She expressed hope for a quick and efficient power transfer process and renewed the invitation from the Ukrainian side for the high leadership of Panama to visit Ukraine.

Iryna Borovets is hopeful that Panama will participate in the First Inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland, scheduled for June 15-16, at the high-ranking level. She also stressed the significance of Panama's support for President Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula.

Vladimir Franco Souza pledged Panama's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing readiness to aid Ukraine's initiatives in the UN and other international and regional organizations.

The parties discussed ways to intensify political dialogue between the two countries and the organization of high-level bilateral contacts in the near future.
