On February 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Iryna Borovets held a video conference with the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Ukraine Assad José Jater Peña.

Iryna Borovets expressed gratitude to the Republic of Colombia for supporting Ukrainian initiatives within international organizations, in particular the UN General Assembly.

The interlocutors discussed further steps to intensify bilateral relations between the two countries. The commitment of the Ukrainian side to active cooperation with Colombia in joint implementation of Ukraine’s international peace initiatives, especially the Peace Formula and the Special Tribunal was reaffirmed.

The Colombian side was invited to participate in the formation of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian children deported to Russia.

Issues of increasing humanitarian aid from Colombia were also discussed. The Ukrainian side expressed interest in involving Colombia's experience in the field of humanitarian demining.

For his part, Ambassador Assad Jater confirmed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people and assured of the unwavering support of his state for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
