Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Borovets held a meeting with Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Natalka Cmoc.
The parties followed up on the recent visit of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Ukraine and discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.
Iryna Borovets expressed gratitude to Canada for the new packages of military and humanitarian aid announced last week and for imposing additional restrictive measures against the Russian Federation, as well as for Canada’s active participation in the Peace Formula process launched by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and co-leading the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
The interlocutors focused on the practical implementation of the joint initiative aimed at resolving the issue of illegal deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian children by Russia. They exchanged views on specific steps that could help expand the Coalition’s member states by engaging partners from Latin America and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Oceania regions.
The parties also discussed cooperation related to the completion of the National Holodomor Genocide Museum in Kyiv with the support of the Government of Canada.
Ambassador Natalka Cmoc confirmed Canada's unwavering commitment to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight for freedom, further transformation process, and post-war rebuilding of the nation.
