The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the illegal visit by the Ambassadors of the Republic of Burundi Joseph Nkurunziza, the Republic of GuineaNyankoye Haba, and the Republic of Chad Adam Beshir Mahamoud in Russia, to the territory of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea - temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
This visit constitutes a blatant violation of international law, including the relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, in particular Resolution 68/262 "Territorial Integrity of Ukraine", as well as Ukrainian national legislation. Such actions run counter to the universally recognized principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and undermine the efforts of the international community aimed at ending Russian aggression and restoring comprehensive, just, and lasting peace.
The Russian Federation continues to exploit foreign diplomats for propaganda purposes and tries to create a false impression of "recognition" of its illegal occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula.
We call on foreign diplomats to strictly adhere to the norms of international law, respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, and refrain from any actions that could be interpreted as direct or indirect approval of the crimes committed by the aggressor state.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expects that the respective foreign governments will duly assess the conduct of their representatives, whose reckless actions harm bilateral relations with Ukraine and damage the reputation of their own states in the international arena.
Ukraine reserves the right to take appropriate political and diplomatic measures in response to these unfriendly acts and will initiate the inclusion of the aforementioned individuals in relevant sanctions lists.
