Ukraine strongly rejects the accusations that have recently been released by the international media outlets about the alleged involvement of our state in the supply of UAVs to the rebels in Mali.
We also categorically deny all the regular accusations made by the high-ranking officials of the Republic of Mali and the Republic of Niger, that Ukraine is allegedly involved in "cooperation with terrorists", "arms supplies and providing them with information", "support to the terrorist coalition", etc.
In its statements dated August 5 and 8, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine provided a comprehensive refutation of such accusations and expressed regret over the decision of Mali and Niger to break diplomatic relations with Ukraine based on fabricated and unsubstantiated assumptions.
In this context, we also reject all accusations against Ukraine regarding the alleged involvement of our state in the entry into the Sahel region of weapons and military equipment supplied to Ukraine by its allies to counter the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
From the first months of the Russian full-scale invasion, it was Ukraine that first initiated the introduction of an extensive system of monitoring and control over the weapons supplied to our state by Western partners. In addition to international, state and departmental mechanisms for monitoring the use of Western weapons, parliamentary control in this area has also been introduced in Ukraine. For more than two and a half years of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, not a single case of inappropriate use of the weapons and military equipment provided to our country was established by the Western partners.
In the context of the baseless accusations of the governments of Mali and Niger against Ukraine, we call to put an end to the spreading of the false information that repeats the fake narratives of the aggressor state Russia’s propaganda, aimed at discrediting our state and justifying Russia's unprovoked, unjustified and illegal war against Ukraine. We reserve the right to protect the honor, dignity and legitimate interests of Ukraine by all available political and diplomatic means.
Once again, we emphasize that Ukraine remains committed to the further development of mutually beneficial relations with all African states on the basis of equality, non-interference in internal affairs, respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within internationally recognized borders, strict adherence to international law, the Goals and Principles of the UN Charter.
