Ukraine expresses solidarity with Romania against the backdrop of Russia's unprecedented hybrid attack against Romanian democracy, as evidenced by data declassified by the Romanian authorities this week.
The audacious interference of Russia into Romania's internal affairs is an attempt to deprive the Romanian people of their constitutional right to free expression of their will. This is another episode of Russia's wider hybrid aggression against Europe and the free world, which has already exposed itself recently by obsessive efforts to destabilize the situation in Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and other countries.
The Russia’s intrusion into the internal affairs of Romania confirms the previous statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine that the aggressive plans of the kremlin go far beyond the borders of Ukraine and extend in particular to EU and NATO countries. The response to such russian threats must be joint and decisive, including maximum support for Ukraine in countering russian aggression for the sake of maintaining stability in Europe and the world.
Romania is an important neighbor and reliable partner of our country. The country, that firmly supports Ukraine's struggle against Russian aggression and provides significant assistance. Our solidarity with the Romanian people remains steadfast. We sincerely hope that during the further electoral process, Romanian citizens will be able to exercise their right to vote without foreign interference.
