Ukraine welcomes the achievement of an agreement in principle between the State of Israel and Hamas regarding the stabilization in the Gaza Strip and the release of the captured hostages.
We hope that the parties will be able to achieve in practice a sustainable end to the armed conflict, which has led to irreparable human losses and serious destruction of social and humanitarian infrastructure facilities.
We call on the parties to strictly adhere to the commitments undertaken.
We highly appreciate the mediation efforts of the United States, the State of Qatar and Egypt, thanks to which it was possible to agree on the release of the hostages and reach mutually acceptable approaches regarding the future stages of the stabilization of the situation in the Gaza Strip.
We emphasize that it remains critically important to ensure unimpeded access to the Gaza Strip for the relevant UN structures and international humanitarian organizations to provide emergency aid to the Palestinians.
Ukraine is ready to continue providing assistance to those in need, in particular, to supply food to civilians in crisis situations. Ukraine will continue to provide humanitarian support to the Palestinians and assist in efforts to overcome the humanitarian catastrophe.
In the context of the prospects for wider normalization in the region, we proceed from the fact that the practical implementation of the principle of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security, is the only way to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace, as well as regional stability.
The Middle East peace process must be restored through the parties' unconditional implementation of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council, as well as other previously reached international agreements.
