Ukraine has closely followed the session of the Parliament of the Republic of Lebanon, which took place on January 9, 2025, where General Joseph Aoun was elected the new President of the country.

We congratulate Lebanon on this long-awaited important step towards overcoming the political and institutional crisis, as well as restoring internal and regional stability.

We hope that the political process initiated by this step will contribute to the realization of the aspirations of the friendly Lebanese people towards the building of a democratic, stable, peaceful, and prosperous state. We urge all Lebanese political forces to continue the dialogue and further constructive work to this end.

We confirm our full interest to have stable and prosperous Lebanon among our reliable partners and we are determined to cooperate for deepening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Lebanon both at the bilateral level and within the framework of international organizations.
