On February 17, 2025 Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh held a meeting with Supreme Mufti of Crimea, Head of the Religious Administration of Muslims of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Ayder Rustemov and Member of Parliament of Ukraine Tamila Tasheva.

Maksym Subkh expressed gratitude to Ayder Rustemov and Tamila Tasheva for their tireless efforts to keep the international community focusing on the issue of temporarely occupation of the Crimean peninsula.

Interlocutors discussed further implementation of joint initiatives to advance the interests of Muslims in Ukraine and ensure their religious freedoms, in particular, by coordinating events related to the pilgrimage of our fellow citizens to Islamic shrines in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Parties also agreed on a number of coordinating steps aimed at strengthening communication between Muslim communities of Ukraine and relevant organizations abroad which will contribute to further development of international cooperation.

Parties paid special attention to the organization of the upcoming solemn Iftar with the participation of top political leadership of Ukraine and the foreign diplomatic corps.
