On September 5, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh held a meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands to Ukraine Alle Dorhout.
The parties exchanged views on the development of the political, socioeconomic and security situation in Africa, paying special attention to the opportunities for implementing joint initiatives in economic and social spheres in the countries of the African continent.
Maksym Subkh informed the Dutch diplomat about the current situation and further perspectives for expanding Ukraine's diplomatic presence in the region, as well as the progress in engagement of African countries in the implementation of the initiatives within the framework of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula.
During the meeting a number of ideas regarding the engagement of the Global South countries in practical work on the implementation of certain points of the mentioned Formula were discussed.
The Special Representative of Ukraine thanked the Ambassador for the Netherlands’ participation in the “Grain from Ukraine” initiative and expressed hope that the Dutch side would remain its active contributor.
The diplomats agreed to maintain regular contacts between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to ensure closer coordination of activities in the regions of Africa and the Middle East.
