On 27 April, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held an online meeting with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Robert Persaud.
During the conversation, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Guyanese side for its consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid the ongoing Russian aggression, as well as for backing Ukrainian initiatives in international organizations aimed at compliance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.
The diplomats discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including the intensification of political dialogue, the exchange of visits, and the deepening of trade and economic cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the humanitarian challenges caused by the war, as well as to international legal mechanisms for ensuring the Russian Federation accountability.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine invited Guyana to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children unlawfully deported by Russia.
