Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem AlBudaiwi on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged diplomatic notes, officially approving the Ukraine – GCC Strategic Dialogue Joint Action Plan for 2025-2030.
The approval of the Ukraine – GCC Strategic Dialogue Joint Action Plan lays a solid foundation for the development of political, economic, and humanitarian dialogue with the GCC. Further steps to enhancing interaction were discussed.
Mariana Betsa informed the Secretary General about Ukraine’s activities during the High-Level Week, including the meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. She emphasized the importance of this issue and presented Ukraine’s initiative to introduce a relevant resolution for consideration by the UN General Assembly.
The Deputy Minister invited the GCC Secretary General to visit Ukraine, in particular to take part in the International Food Security Summit "Food from Ukraine", which will be held on November 19, 2025 in Kyiv.
Mariana Betsa expressed her gratitude to the Secretary General for supporting Ukraine's efforts to overcome the consequences of the ongoing Russian aggression.
The parties also discussed the potential involvement of Gulf countries in the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine
