On August 26, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with a delegation of American officials—advisers on foreign and defense policy to members of the House of Representatives and Senate from both political parties in the United States—who are visiting Ukraine in the framework of an educational program organized by the Atlantic Council, an American think tank. 

The Deputy Minister thanked the American experts for the efforts of the Administration of US President Donald Trump to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine, separately noting in this context the importance of the recent meeting in Washington between the leaders of Ukraine, the United States, France, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the EU and NATO.

The Deputy Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining bipartisan and bicameral support for our state in the US Congress.

The parties discussed the importance of establishing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine, which should become a key factor in preventing further aggression and ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state.

Mariana Betsa separately emphasized the urgency of strengthening sanction pressure on the aggressor country, as well as the importance of bringing those guilty of war crimes to justice. She also stressed the need to continue comprehensive efforts to return Ukrainian children deported by the Russian Federation, illegally detained civilians and prisoners of war.
