On February 4, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Lithuania composed of Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the UN Rytis Palauskas, Director of the UN, Multilateral Organizations and Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rasma Ramoškaitė, and Head of the UN and Global Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mindaugas Gabrėnas.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the interaction between Ukraine and Lithuania within the framework of international organizations on a number of priority issues. The interlocutors paid special attention to the issues of protecting human rights, the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia, donor assistance to Ukraine to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression, and strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation as an aggressor state.

“Ukraine thanks Lithuania for its comprehensive support for Ukraine, including that on important issues in the governing bodies of the UN system. I count on the dynamic development of our fruitful cooperation”, Mariana Betsa said.

The meeting confirmed the commitment of both countries to common goals, among which the priority issue is the restoration of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine on the basis of the Peace Formula, the international isolation of the Russian Federation and the holding of the aggressor state and its war criminals to account.
