On 2 December, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa met with Roman Zhyla, Executive Director of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), and the UWC Mission to Ukraine team, headed by Andrii Shevchenko, the Head of Mission. 

This meeting has continued the good tradition of exchanging views between the MFA and the UWC on current issues and developing plans for joint activities for the coming year. 

Mariana Betsa thanked the UWC for the ongoing support of the Ukrainian community abroad, particularly in the area of education for children, as well as she outlined the main priorities of the current activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

She emphasized that both diplomats and the UWC must now work to strengthen the world's response to the new stage of escalation of Russia's war against Ukraine and the usage of a new type of missile against Ukraine by the aggressor. 

The Deputy Minister also noted: “Our main goal remains unchanged: victory and a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy”.’ 

Mariana Betsa called upon the UWC to continue collaborative work to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia and advocate for Ukraine abroad, particularly in the context of obtaining an invitation for our country to join NATO. 

Roman Zhyla and Andrii Shevchenko, in turn, informed about the priorities of the UWC in the short term and described the projects, planned for the coming year.
