On July 30, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a metting with the newly appointed Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, Auke Lootsma, who has just begun his mission in our country.
Mariana Betsa congratulated Auke Lootsma on the start of his mission to Ukraine and noted that we highly appreciate the important work of UNDP in our country aimed at overcoming the devastating consequences of the Russian armed aggression. The Deputy Minister also expressed her hope for further comprehensive support and assistance in Ukraine's recovery.
UNDP remains one of Ukraine's key partners in recovery in Ukraine: since the beginning of Russia's full-scale armed aggression in February 2022, UNDP has accumulated over $1 billion to help rebuild destroyed civilian and critical infrastructure, conduct humanitarian demining, and restore Ukraine's energy generating capacity.
In his turn, Auke Lootsma thanked the Government of Ukraine for its readiness for fruitful cooperation and emphasized his willingness to make active efforts to overcome the consequences caused by the aggressor's actions.
The parties discussed in detail the top priorities of UNDP's activities in Ukraine and agreed to maintain a high level of coordination.
