On November 9, 2021 Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi met with Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Georgy Zakarashvili.
They paid special attention to the situation with Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili. The Georgian Ambassador, in particular, informed in detail on circumstances of Mr. Saakashvili’s transfer to Gldani penitentiary hospital.
Mr. Tochytskyi stressed that the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad is a priority for Ukrainian state. The deputy minister reminded of the official note of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia yesterday and asked for its positive consideration by the Georgian side.
The sides also discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the schedule of political contacts.
They exchanged views on further joint actions within the Associated Trio of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova in the context of preparation for the Eastern Partnership Summit on December 15, 2021.
