The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine continues its efforts to improve the accessibility and quality of consular services for Ukrainian citizens abroad. The priority is to simultaneously expand Ukraine’s consular presence and develop digital tools that enable citizens to access services more quickly and conveniently.

To this end, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine held an online meeting with the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine led by Oleksandr Bornyakov. The participants discussed accelerating the launch of new digital services, including the possibility of obtaining a taxpayer identification number (RNOKPP) directly through Ukraine’s foreign diplomatic missions.

“Accessible consular services for Ukrainians abroad are among my top priorities. We are working simultaneously in two directions: expanding consular presence and maximising the digitalisation of services so that Ukrainians do not have to wait in queues or travel unnecessary distances. Most importantly, every Ukrainian abroad should feel these changes in practice: fewer queues, faster services, and more services available online,” the Minister stated.

The introduction of the new service is particularly important for Ukrainian families whose children were born abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the State Tax Service of Ukraine, is working to make the service available as soon as possible.

At the same time, efforts continue to reduce queues for appointments at consular institutions, including through the introduction of additional appointment slots and improvements to the electronic booking system.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will continue working to ensure that the state remains closer to every Ukrainian citizen, regardless of their place of residence.
