The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announces with deep sorrow the passing of Dmytro Yukhimovych Markov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine.
Dmytro Yukhimovych held various high-level government and diplomatic posts, including Press Secretary to the President of Ukraine—Head of the Presidential Press Service, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the State of Israel, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Cyprus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, and Director of the European Union Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
He made a significant contribution and was actively involved in establishing and developing relations with Ukraine’s key international partners. As a member of the first Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America, Dmytro Yukhimovych was among the first to lay the foundations of our bilateral relations and to establish ties with the American media and the public.
The staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine extends its deepest condolences to Dmytro Yukhymovych’s family and loved ones. May his memory live on.
