On November 17, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Bankov held a meeting with the delegation of the French Republic led by Special envoy of the President of the French Republic for economic assistance and reconstruction of Ukraine Pierre Heilbronn.
The State Secretary expressed his gratitude for France's constant support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the military, humanitarian and financial assistance that France has provided and continues to provide to our country since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
During the meeting the parties discussed the involvement of France in the implementation of a number of initiatives for the reconstruction of Ukraine, the development of interregional cooperation and future common project activities.
During the discussion, the Secretary of State paid a special attention to the decision of the French side to extend the mandate of the French Development Agency to Ukraine, which will serve as an effective tool for attracting aid for the implementation of new projects aimed at economic growth and improvement of living conditions in Ukraine. In this regard, the Parties have agreed to pre-negotiate on the regulatory and legal mechanism that will order the establishment, functions, and areas of future activity of the Agency in Ukraine.
Oleksandr Bankov expressed a hope that the French side will be represented at a high level at the Second International Summit "Grain from Ukraine", which will be held on November 25, 2023 in Kyiv.
From his part, Pierre Heilbronn assured of France's constant support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He confirmed the determination of the French side to continue to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine, including the search for additional mechanisms aimed at effective assistance to our State.
