On June 30, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with representatives of the American defence technology company Lockheed Martin — one of the world's leaders in the development and production of high-technology weapons systems, aviation and space equipment.
The meeting was devoted to issues of developing cooperation in the defence industry, strengthening Ukraine's security, and localising the production of advanced defence technologies that our state needs for the effective repulsion of Russian aggression. Strengthening Ukraine's defence capability is a key factor in reinforcing European security.
At the outset of the meeting, the parties discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the pressing needs of our state amid the ongoing Russian aggression.
During the talks, Olexandr Mischenko expressed gratitude to Lockheed Martin for its support of Ukraine and its readiness to develop a long-term partnership in the field of defence technologies. The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of engaging leading international companies in strengthening Ukraine's defence capability, developing its industrial potential, and creating a modern defence ecosystem compatible with NATO standards.
Olexandr Mischenko noted that cooperation with Lockheed Martin is an important element in strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, and in integrating the Ukrainian defence-industrial complex into the Euro-Atlantic security space.
At the close of the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in continuing a constructive dialogue and implementing concrete joint projects aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defence capability and ensuring long-term security in the region.
