On February 7, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko met with Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta, Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Ukraine, Antonio Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone.

Olexandr Mischenko thanked for the humanitarian assistance to our country from the structures of the Order of Malta in Ukraine, in particular in the social, educational and medical spheres. He also expressed gratitude for organizing and conducting of a course on first medical aid for employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

During the conversation, the Deputy Minister called on representatives of the Sovereign Order of Malta to support the establishment of a lasting and just peace for Ukraine and for all of Europe and emphasized the importance of continuing pressure on Russia.

The focus of the conversation was on joint projects in the field of public diplomacy planned for 2025.

In addition, the parties discussed the Embassy’s of the Order of Malta proposals regarding the possible updating of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Sovereign Military Order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta.

The interlocutors agreed to continue regular contact in order to further strengthen relations between Ukraine and the Sovereign Order of Malta.
