21 December 2021 18:48

On December 21, the Conference of Ambassadors of Ukraine was launched under the Chair of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the village of Huta, Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

The head of the state outlined the main foreign policy achievements of Ukraine in 2021, in particular, strengthening the international support of our state in the face of Russian aggression and intensifying dialogue with key partners.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy identified a key line on the foreign policy track for 2022: “Modern Ukrainian diplomacy must be fast, ambitious, creative and efficient. It is important to change the negative narratives towards our state. Ukraine must be associated with opportunities and development, not with problems and threats".

The priorities of the next year will be the agreements on free trade zones, increasing trade and foreign investments, opening new markets for national goods in Latin America, Asia and Africa. The Ukrainian head of state called on Ukrainian diplomatic community to focus on developing new ambitious formats of cooperation. He emphasized that specific indicators of increasing trade and investments as well as launching of economic projects will determine the effectiveness of the diplomatic service.

In this context, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba presented a new initiative on launching a business globalization service - platform of economic diplomacy “NAZOVNI”. "Implementation of the platform will promote Ukrainian exports abroad, build greater confidence in state support among national companies, optimize the analysis and examination of investment projects," said Dmytro Kuleba, emphasizing that the Foreign Ministry will continue its work for Ukrainian citizens and Ukrainian business.

Among other essential tasks determined by the President were the participation of Ukraine in the NATO Summit in Madrid and launch of new regional alliances such as the Lublin Triangle, the Associated Trio and the Quadriga.

Special attention was paid to security issues. Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak briefed the Ukrainian ambassadors on the progress of negotiations within the Minsk process and the Normandy format, presented Ukraine's initiatives aimed at revitalizing negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian-Russian armed conflict.

Within the Conference, a special plenary session "Diplomacy of Soft Power" was held under the Chair of First Lady. Olena Zelenska briefed the participants on the initiatives implemented under her patronage. In particular, introduction of Ukrainian-language audio guides in museums around the world, as well as her plans to promote Ukrainian-language books and support of the project on Ukrainian-language translations of the Ukrainian Book Institute. The First Lady also informed about the results of the Kyiv Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen held on August 23, 2021.

Dmytro Kuleba emphasized that the First Lady has become "a real Ambassador of cultural diplomacy, who systematically promotes a positive image and cultural diplomacy abroad." He added that "for the first time in history, the Conference of Ambassadors is held in a joint format with support from Olena Zelenska".
