First Deputy Minister of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya held a meeting with representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament, chaired by Emily Thornberry.

The First Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the UK for solidarity with the Ukrainian people and leadership in providing comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. The British side was called on to continue supporting Ukraine, in particular aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in our country.

Emily Thornberry and the British parliamentarians assured of the UK's unequivocal and unwavering support for Ukraine and the readiness of the UK Parliament to contribute to the deepening of the bilateral strategic partnership.

The parties discussed number of issues of the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, interaction in multilateral formats and international organizations. The First Deputy Minister emphasized the exceptional role of the UK in the United Nations, where latter as a permanent member of the UN Security Council has consistently taken a principled and proactive stance in countering Russian aggression.

The sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen sanctions pressure against Russia, transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, bring Russia to justice and prevent the aggressor country from using culture as a mean of promoting propaganda and disinformation.
