On September 30, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis presented letters of appreciation from Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha to Crimean Tatar Resource Center staff members Zarema Bariyeva and Liudmyla Korotkykh. The awards recognized their significant contribution to international human rights efforts and marked the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of systematic work to protect human rights, draw international attention to the situation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and counter violations of the rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens.

Since 2015, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has engaged in human rights, analytical, and advocacy activities aimed, in particular, at informing the international community about the situation in Crimea, documenting human rights violations, and supporting the Ukrainian identity of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.

The Center’s materials and findings are used in Ukraine’s international advocacy efforts and help maintain global attention on the temporary occupation of Crimea, human rights violations, and the consequences of Russian aggression.

The meeting also acknowledged the contribution of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center staff to strengthening international support for Ukraine and conveying the truth about the consequences of the Russian occupation of Crimea to the global community. The participants also discussed the interaction between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and civil society, specifically ways to strengthen joint efforts on pressing issues of the international agenda.
