On May 21, 2020, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevheniy Yenin met with Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Darkhan Kaletaev.
The counterparts noted a high level of bilateral cooperation on the return of their citizens to their homelands, as well as the use of Kazakh airspace for the delivery of humanitarian aid from China to Ukraine.
"We guarantee equal rights for the citizens of Ukraine and Kazakhstan while providing protection against coronavirus disease COVID-19 in our territories. And we expect similar actions from Kazakhstan ", Yenin stressed.
Yevheniy Yenin and Darkhan Kaletaev emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in intensifying political dialogue at high and the highest levels, as well as trade and economic cooperation, in particular the 14th meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Kazakhstani Interstate Commission on Economic Cooperation in Kyiv.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan reaffirmed that exports and balanced trade promotion is a vital task for both sides in the context of the economic downturn due to the pandemic. H.E. Mr. Kaletaev also expressed his country's readiness to intensify contacts between business representatives to reach new level of trade relations between the two countries.
