We express our sincere gratitude to the UN Member States for their trust and support of Ukraine's candidacy during the first round of elections to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the period 2026-2028.

For Ukraine, which fights for freedom, dignity and justice every day, it is an honor and a responsibility to become a part of one of the main UN bodies that shapes global policy in the areas of economic development, social progress, human rights protection, humanitarian response and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

It is a great honor for Ukraine to join one of the main UN bodies that promotes global cooperation in the areas of development, human rights and humanitarian response. These areas correspond to the goals and principles of the UN Charter," said Andrii Sybiha, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"Even in the time of full-scale armed aggression, we perceive our membership in ECOSOC as an opportunity to contribute to the development of world-changing solutions and share Ukraine's unique experience of resilience, reform, recovery and modernization.

Ukraine will work actively, transparently and in a spirit of partnership with all ECOSOC member states that share a commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and international law in general, to strengthen international solidarity, sustainable peace and a more just, and sustainable future for everyone.
