Puzzle of Unity installation opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine 

The Puzzle of Unity is an interactive map of Ukraine comprising 20 puzzle pieces. They represent the country’s regions through key cultural and historical symbols, and together highlight Ukraine’s diversity and rich cultural heritage.

The puzzle format serves as a metaphor for unity and integrity through diversity: each piece has its own story, but only together do they form a complete picture of Ukraine. Through this format, the project encourages audiences to engage with the installation and explore Ukrainian history and culture, while also drawing attention to the importance of upholding Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Puzzle of Unity project also includes an information campaign on the social media pages of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad and on Ukraine.ua, Ukraine’s official social media pages. Launched ahead of the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, the campaign explores each of the symbols featured in the installation in greater detail and gives a wider audience an opportunity to discover their stories.

The Puzzle of Unity installation was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the NGO Port of Culture with the support of the European External Action Service (EEAS). The installation features artwork by Ukrainian artists Sestry Feldman, as well as cultural and historical facts selected in consultation with historian Oleksandr Fedoryshen.

Puzzle of Unity installations have already been presented at the EEAS office in Brussels, as well as in the USA, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria and Chile. The installation is planned to open in three more countries in 2026.
