From November 9-11, Nairobi, Kenya, hosted a strategic session with representatives from Ukrainian embassies in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Ms. Viktoria Lialina-Boiko, Director General for Public Diplomacy and Communications at Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and leading African experts.
The event, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, brought together diplomats from newly opened foreign diplomatic missions and ambassadors from Ukrainian diplomatic missions with a long history of work on the continent.
The session became a platform for discussing cultural, humanitarian and communication projects, as well as for analysing the challenges faced by Ukrainian diplomats in Africa.
At the communication panel, participants discussed tools that will ensure Ukraine's ongoing media activity in the region and agreed on the need for a systematic approach to positioning Ukraine as a reliable and strategic partner on the continent.
Diplomats of Ukraine's newly established diplomatic missions in Africa shared their first results and ideas for further development.
‘Such meetings open up opportunities for shaping a modern vision, promoting truthful information about Ukraine, and strengthening the positive image of our country on the African continent. Despite all the challenges, Ukraine's presence in Africa is gaining new features and content, strengthening diplomatic ties between our countries every day,’ said Viktoria Lialina-Boiko, Director General for Public Diplomacy and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
