On July 7, 2020, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar received copies of the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ukraine Mohammed Al-Mussher.
The interlocutors discussed topical issues on the agenda of Ukrainian-Saudi relations, emphasizing the importance of developing the highest level political dialogue between Kyiv and Riyadh.
Vasyl Bodnar stressed the willingness of the Ukrainian side to work together with the Kingdom to deepen and diversify cooperation in political, economic, investment and agricultural areas as well as outlined the prospects for cooperation in aviation, military and technical, energy and information spheres.
Noting a positive experience of investment cooperation between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the context of attracting multimillion investments into the agricultural sector of Ukraine, the diplomats agreed to do everything possible to increase the share of Saudi Arabian investments in the economy of our state.
The parties also praised the effectiveness of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Saudi Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and discussed the possibilities of holding the Seventh meeting by the end of this year.
The participants of the meeting made a special emphasis on the next steps in easing the visa regime between the two countries in order to provide a favourable basis for intensifying interpersonal and business contacts.
