In accordance with the work plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deepen cooperation with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, on December 20, 2024, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olexandr Mischenko and the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratyuk held a joint meeting of the structural units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the leadership of the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on foreign policy and interparliamentary cooperation and on Ukraine's integration into the European Union, as well as co-chairs of the parliamentary groups of the Verkhovna Rada on interparliamentary relations with foreign states, in particular the countries of Europe, the South Caucasus and Türkiye.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the meeting was attended by Head of The Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, leadership and diplomats of the First and Second Territorial Departments, the Head of the Department of International Security and Military-Technical Cooperation, and the Head of the EU and NATO Department. Also, the event was joined online by Ambassadors of Ukraine to 44 foreign states .
During the meeting, the state and perspectives for consolidating the efforts of the Foreign Ministry and parliamentary diplomacy were discussed in order to further mobilize international support for Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggressor.
An algorithm for regular cooperation was agreed within the context of preparing for international events with the participation of parliamentary delegations of the Verkhovna Rada, which will allow to defend the national interests of our state abroad as effectively as possible.
