On May 20, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with Bruno Retayo, French Senator from the Vendée department, head of "Republicans" political party, Minister of the Interior of France (2024-2025), who visited Ukraine for the first time. Christophe Gomart, Member of the European Parliament, also participated in the meeting.

Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude for the consistent support of Ukraine by both chambers of the French Parliament and expressed hope for further leadership of France in promoting initiatives aimed at providing security guarantees for Ukraine.

The interlocutors paid special attention to discussing the current security situation in Ukraine and the region and exchanged assessments of existing and potential threats to European security from the Russian Federation.

The parties also discussed issues related to Ukraine's integration into the EU, increased military assistance to our country, the restoration of Ukraine's energy sector in the context of preparations for the next heating season, and sanctions pressure on the aggressor.
