On September 23, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Lord Wood, who was visiting Ukraine for the first time.

Yevhen Perebyinis thanked the British side for its consistent and comprehensive support for Ukraine, in particular for the significant contribution of Great Britain to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, support for the energy sector, and sanctions pressure on the aggressor state the Russian Federation and its satellites, including measures to prevent the circumvention of sanctions.

The parties highly appreciated the dynamics of political dialogue between Ukraine and the United Kingdom at all levels, in particular within the framework of the implementation of the unprecedented One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement. In this context, ways of furthering the Strategic Partnership Dialogue as a mechanism for comprehensively deepening bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The Deputy Minister informed the British side about the significant increase in the number of Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure and critical facilities. He prioritized the need to further strengthening military assistance to Ukraine, in particular air defense.

Particular attention was paid to Ukraine's preparation for the winter period. Yevhen Perebyinis called on the British side to further participate in increasing the resilience of Ukraine's energy system.

The Deputy Minister also informed the British side about the consequences of systematic and targeted Russian attacks on Ukrainian merchant shipping and port infrastructure in the Black Sea. The parties agreed that such actions by the Russian Federation pose a significant threat to global food security.

Lord Wood emphasized that the British side is ready to provide the necessary additional assistance to get through the autumn-winter period and confirmed the UK's willingness to continue active dialogue within the framework of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the UK.
