On 31 October, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova.
The parties discussed the results of the European Commission's Report on the 2024 Enlargement Package. The report was released on 30 October, during a press conference with the participation of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and the EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Policy Oliver Varhelyi.
The European Commission's report includes a detailed annual assessment of the state of reforms in Ukraine in each of the negotiated chapters of the EU accession process. These assessments, which are based in particular on information on reform progress provided by the Ukrainian side, are accompanied by the EC's recommendations on priorities for further reforms.
The report underlines Ukraine's commitment to fundamental reforms and systemic transformation processes, especially in the areas of rule of law, human rights, and the fight against corruption. Ukraine's efforts and progress in the context of sectoral integration and access to the EU internal market were noted.
The parties also discussed a number of issues on the bilateral agenda within the framework of the EU-Ukraine political dialogue.
