On March 12, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a phone conversation with UK Foreign Office Minister for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty.
Yevhen Perebyinis thanked the British side for its comprehensive support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, in particular the significant financial, military, and energy assistance. He also highlighted London’s leadership role in consolidating international efforts in support of Ukraine.
The interlocutors discussed further military assistance to Ukraine, including strengthening air defense and prospects for continued cooperation in the fields of security and defense.
Particular attention was paid to the need to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation in order to limit its ability to continue its aggression against Ukraine.
The parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the interconnection of security challenges in different parts of the world and the importance of coordinating the efforts of democratic partners in countering destabilizing actions by aggressive regimes.
The British diplomat reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s unwavering position in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and assured of its readiness to further strengthen bilateral partnership.
