On October 23, 2024 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis took part in the format of a video conference in the international Agrarian Forum "Ukraine-Africa 2024", which gathered representatives of 22 countries of the African continent. The Forum, organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, was also attended by representatives of state institutions, agricultural producers of Ukraine and regional international organization.
The Deputy Minister focused on the negative global consequences of full-scale Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, in particular in the context of ensuring food security on the African continent. Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized the importance of the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi "Grain from Ukraine" and invited African countries to participate in the 3rd International Food Security Summit scheduled for the end of November 2024 in Kyiv.
As the Deputy Minister highlighted, "despite the ongoing challenges caused by Russian aggression, Ukraine is determined to expand business ties with the African continent". Particularly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the national platform NAZOVNI, a modern digital tool designed to establish contacts between Ukrainian and foreign partners, including from African countries.
In the framework of the event, representatives of specialized state bodies and business circles of Ukraine and African countries exchanged opinions on the activation of trade in agricultural products and the establishment of optimal logistics routes. The participants also discussed issues of sectoral cooperation, in particular regarding joint scientific research with African countries and the introduction of the latest technologies in agriculture and other areas of mutual interest.
