On 23 September, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis took part in a roundtable discussion entitled “Ukraine’s Foreign Policy: Specifics, Challenges, Priorities.” The event was organized by the Public Council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Razumkov Centre.

Speaking at the event, Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized that “amid our response to the existential challenge posed to Ukraine by the Russian aggression, the key task of our foreign policy is the restoration of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace, grounded in respect for the UN Charter, and for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.”

The Deputy Minister noted that in recent days in New York, on the margins of the UN General Assembly, a diplomatic team led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine and including Minister for Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha is actively working to achieve precisely such a peace.

The Deputy Minister focused on the importance of strengthening Ukraine and increasing international pressure on Russia; on the vision of security guarantees for our state and the irreversibility of the course of Ukraine toward European and Euro-Atlantic integration; on the need to bring the Russian Federation and its accomplices to account for the crime of aggression, war crimes, and crimes against humanity; as well as on issues of Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction.

“We need the consolidation of international support, the engagement of the global Ukrainian community, and the expert community both in Ukraine and abroad. Ukraine’s voice will be stronger if we speak together and defend the interests of our state on every platform,” underlined Yevhen Perebyinis.
