On November 16, 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Permanent International Secretariat Lazar Comanescu, who arrived to Ukraine to participate in the 62nd Plenary Session of the General Assembly of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly.

Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized that the position of the Ukrainian side regarding the unacceptability of the Russia’s presence in the BSEC remains unchanged. The Deputy Minister stressed that a state, which violates the norms of international law and the statutory principles of the Organization, cannot be a member of the BSEC.

The parties also discussed the activities of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization in the context of Russia's full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as the role of BSEC in the development of economic cooperation between its members.
