On July 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Head of NATO Representation to Ukraine Karen McTear.

Yevhen Perebyinis positively noted return of the Head of Representation to Ukraine, emphasizing readiness of the Ukrainian side to intensify interaction in order to fill the relations between Ukraine and NATO with specific content and to ensure our state’s membership in the Alliance as soon as possible. He informed the interlocutor about the current security situation in Ukraine when it comes to countering Russian aggression and noted the importance of large-scale assistance provided to our country by NATO member states.

In its turn, Karen McTear assured that the Alliance's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine remained unwavering. She also emphasized the steadfast commitment of the Allies to strengthen political and practical assistance to our country.

During the discussion, the parties paid special attention to the implementation of the arrangements reached at the recent Vilnius NATO summit. In this context, speakers noted productive activities of the recently established Ukraine-NATO Council, the extraordinary meeting of which was held on July 26.
