Yevhen Perebyinis thanked the representatives of the Member States of the European Union for the solidarity and assistance of the EU countries during the difficult time of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, as well as for their support during the adoption by the European Council of the historic decision of June 23 on granting Ukraine the candidate status for membership in the European Union.
The parties discussed the issues of providing military and economic aid to Ukraine, bringing to justice perpetrators of war crimes on the territory of Ukraine, recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, as well as opportunities to strengthen Ukraine's cooperation with the parliaments of the EU Member States on issues of post-war reconstruction.
The Deputy Minister informed EU parliamentarians about the latest decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in connection with Russia's illegitimate actions aimed at attempting to annex part of the territory of Ukraine and called on them to contribute to the implementation of new and stronger anti-Russian sanctions.
The interlocutors coordinated further steps towards Ukraine's accession to the European Union. The representatives of the parliaments of the EU countries confirmed their support to the European integration process of Ukraine and reiterated their readiness to contribute to the promotion of the country towards EU full membership.
