On 2 November 2020, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevheniy Yenin met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine Manouchehr Moradi at his request.
The participants discussed the results of the second round of negotiations with Iran on the downing of Ukraine International Airlines aircraft, and political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Iran, which took place on 19-20 October in Tehran.
“Positive outcomes achieved during the negotiations in Tehran confirm Iran's readiness to take full responsibility for the downing of the Ukrainian plane, as well as the willingness of the Iranian government to resolve the issue in a comprehensive and just manner”, said Yevheniy Yenin at the meeting.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of impartial and transparent investigation of all the circumstances of the PS752 plane crash. The openness of the Iranian side will help ensure the necessary level of international confidence in the results of the technical and criminal investigation, which Iran intends to present in the near future.
The Ambassador of Iran gave assurances of his country’s readiness to resolve the issues as soon as possible in mutually acceptable way during the next round of negotiations, which will take place in late November - early December 2020.
