The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns another manifestation of disrespect of the Republic of Belarus for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by holding an "official" meeting of Oleksandr Lukashenko with the representative of the Russian occupation administration in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of the Donetsk region of Ukraine Denys Pushilin.

This meeting is another confirmation that the stance of the current Belarus authorities with regard to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is being dictated exclusively by the Kremlin`s instructions and have nothing to do either with the international law or the international obligations of the Republic of Belarus.

Ukraine rejects Oleksandr Lukashenko's hypocritical rhetoric on the "principles" of cooperation with the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and considers it as another evidence of support of the aggressive war against our country.

We call on the Belarusian people to comprehend that against the background of repeated contacts of Belarusian officials with the Russian puppets from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lukashenko's constant statements about his “warm feelings” to the “fraternal Ukrainian people” sounds like mockery, and his practical actions destroy the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect, which formed the basis of relations between the Ukrainian and the Belarusian peoples.

The above-mentioned unfriendly actions of the political leadership of Belarus cannot leave without a proper response and will have negative consequences for the Ukrainian-Belarusian relations.
