On March 13 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with Ambassador of Romania to Ukraine Victor Micula.
The interlocutors discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda, particularly the elevation of relations between Ukraine and Romania to the level of strategic partnership.
Olexandr Mischenko expressed gratitude for Romania's support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized the need to strengthen joint efforts in combating Russian disinformation and propaganda.
The Deputy Minister highlighted that Russia is attempting to provoke tensions in order to undermine the friendly relations between Ukraine and Romania, using issues related to national minorities, as well as religious and linguistic aspects. The parties must unite their efforts to prevent the spread of Kremlin narratives within Romanian society.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the development of cooperation within the Ukraine-Romania-Moldova triangle.
Special attention was given to the expansion of the network of consular institutions, in accordance with previously reached agreements between the parties, as well as the efficient use of the honorary consuls by both countries.
