Mariana Betsa was born in Kyiv, on 1 January 1978.
Education
Graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1999. Holds a Master’s degree (diploma with honours) in International Law, interpreter of English.
Professional experience
Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2001.
2001-2005 and 2009-2012 – various diplomatic positions in the Treaty and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
2005-2009 – Second, First Secretary, Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
2012-2015 – Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna (OSCE issues).
2015-2018 – MFA spokesperson, Head of Information Department, MFA of Ukraine.
2018-2023 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Estonia.
2023-2024 – Ambassador-at-large for Global Ukrainian Community, MFA of Ukraine.
2024 - present time – Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, President of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO, Representative of Ukraine to the UNESCO Executive Board.
