Victor Mayko has been received by the Prime-minister Daniel Kablan Duncan. During the talks the parties agreed to conclude in the near future an Agreement on promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, as well to accelerate the drafting of Agreement on trade and economic relations. The Ivoirian side took an interest in Ukraine’s participation in exploitation of mineral deposits and crop’s export. The head of Ivorian Government welcomed the decision of Ukraine to increase the number of higher education scholarships to be granted by the Government of Ukraine.
Deputy Minister Victor Mayko and State Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Charles Koffi Diby held political consultations, the first in the history of bilateral relations.
During the consultations the sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations, inter alia, enhancing political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation including participation of Ukrainian companies in development of Ivorian economy, cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as current issues of the international agenda.
The sides stressed the importance of developing high level contacts between Ukraine and Cote d’Ivoire. In this context, the issue of holding an official visit to Ukraine of Mr. Charles Koffi Diby, the State Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Cote d’Ivoire became an important topic of the discussion.
On the same day Mr. Victor Mayko met with Minister of Transport of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire Mr. Gaoussou Toure. During the meeting the sides discussed the prospects of involving Ukrainian companies to realization of Ivoirian Government programs on development of railway, municipal, sea and air transports.
