April 10, 2011 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua Samuel Santos López conducted an official visit to Ukraine.

He was hosted by Kostyantyn Gryshchenko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The two Ministers discussed possibilities of starting bilateral cooperation in mutually beneficial areas, including aviation, machine-building and agriculture.

They also shared views on ongoing situation and development tendencies in Latin America and countries of Caribbean Basin, as well as perspectives of Ukrainian-Nicaraguan cooperation within the framework of Latin American associations.

At the end of the meeting the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Nicaragua have signed Joint Statement.

This was the first Nicaraguan Foreign Minister visit to Ukraine in the diplomatic history of both countries.
