The Commonwealth of Independent States Ministers for Foreign Affairs Council’s meeting was held in Kyiv on Friday, April, 8th
During the meeting the participants exchanged their visions on the prospects of future cooperation in the framework of the CIS and adopted several important issues. In particular, the draft Statement of the CIS Heads of State concerning the 20th Anniversary of the CIS establishment, in which the CIS activity during this period had been summarized and the main tasks on the future cooperation development were defined.
The draft Statement of the CIS heads of State in view of the 70th Anniversary since the Second World War beginning, commemorating the valour of people, which had written the heroic pages in the book of our history, is also considered to be very important.
Besides, the set of the important issues of the CIS states cooperation development in the informational, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres were discussed. Three of them should be considered at the next CIS Heads of State Council’s meeting. Eight other issues will be considered at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Council’s meeting this May.
Ukrainian Minister for Foreign Affairs Kostyantyn Gryshchenko held several bilateral meetings in the framework of the session.
The participants were also recieved the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
