The interlocutors discussed the ways of accelerating political and trade-and-economic cooperation between two countries, the issue of expansion of the bilateral legal basis, as well as the exchange of high-level visits during 2013.

Special attention was paid to the issue of holding this year a number of business forums with the participation of Ukrainian and Iraqi businessmen and organization of the Fifth session of the Ukrainian-Iraqi joint commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East and the Gulf, the prospects for its further development and its impact on global political and economic processes.
