Kostyantyn Gryshchenko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, held talks with Paul Toungui, Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophone of the Gabonese Republic within the framework of his official visit to Ukraine.
During the meeting that was conducted in warm and constructive atmosphere the Parties have agreed on the further steps over the development of active bilateral political dialogue with the purpose of promotion the Ukrainian–Gabonese cooperation to a new qualitative level. The Ministers shared their views on the issues of arranging highest level visits exchanges, coordination of activities within the framework of international organizations, all-round development of cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technological, investment and cultural spheres.
The issues of cooperation within the framework of UN and other international organizations as well as a number of international regional issues were also discussed by the Parties.
On completion of negotiations, the Protocol on consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Gabonese Republic has been signed.
The visit of the Head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Gabon to Ukraine is the first one in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries.
